To-night
The moon is a curving flower of gold, The sky is still and blue;
The moon was made for the sky to hold, And I for you.
The moon is a flower without a stem, The sky is luminous;
Eternity was made for them, To-night for us.

月儿弯弯是一朵没有根茎的花儿, 把天空照得明亮 ;

“Let It Be Forgotten”
Let it be forgotten as a flower is forgotten, Forgotten as a fire that once was singing gold,
Let it be forgotten forever and ever,
Time is a kind friend, he will make us old.
If any one asks, say it was forgotten Long and long ago,
As a flower, as a fire, as a hushed footfall In a long forgotten snow.
From Flame and Shadow (1920)

The Kiss
I hoped that he would love me, And he has kissed my mouth,
But I am like a stricken bird That cannot reach the south.
For though I know he loves me, To-night my heart is sad;
His kiss was not so wonderful As all the dreams I had.
From Helen of Troy and Other Poems (1911), and Love Songs (1917)
虽然我知道他爱着我, 可今夜我的心还是忧伤 ;

Water Lilies
If you have forgotten water lilies floating
On a dark lake among mountains in the afternoon shade,
If you have forgotten their wet, sleepy fragrance, Then you can return and not be afraid.
But if you remember, then turn away forever
To the plains and the prairies where pools are far apart,
There you will not come at dusk on closing water lilies, And the shadow of mountains will not fall on your heart.
From Flame and Shadow (1920)
“I Would Live in Your Love”
I would live in your love as the sea-grasses live in the sea, Borne up by each wave as it passes, drawn down by each
wave that recedes;
I would empty my soul of the dreams that have gathered in
me,
I would beat with your heart as it beats, I would follow
your soul as it leads.
From Helen of Troy and Other Poems (1911) “我愿意活在你的爱中”
