柯尔律治（1772—1834），英国诗人、文艺评论家。湖畔派诗人代表，英国浪漫主义诗歌的巨匠和奠基人。诗作多采用象征手法，描写超自然的事物，充满神秘色彩。

杨德豫（1928—2013），湖南长沙人。译有莎士比亚长诗《鲁克丽斯受辱记》和华兹华斯、柯尔律治、拜伦、朗费罗等人的诗选。1998年，因华兹华斯诗选译本获首届鲁迅文学翻译彩虹奖。

《柯尔律治诗选》精选了柯尔律治的代表作品，并由著名翻译家杨德豫先生翻译，集中展示了其英国浪漫主义诗歌的英译原则，文字贴切，格律谨严，且文辞斐然，真正做到了译诗与原诗的高度近似。柯尔律治为英国浪漫主义诗歌的奠基人，《老水手行》是其诗歌的主要代表，杨德豫先生以其贴合无间的译笔，精彩呈现了柯尔律治带有超自然、充满奇幻色彩的诗风。
